I, Manuel Cuellar, am currently a student at Galen University majoring Business marketing. I

also work as a promoter for Kings Promotion; a well known promoting business throughout
the country of Belize that has been responsible for bringing in well-known reggae artist like
Tarrus Riley and Sean Paul. They have also collaborated with popular clubs nationwide to
conduct various dances and concerts. I am preparing a career as a marketing consultant
alongside club/ concert promoter.

This memo serves to inform you about my potential career, and constructive insight to the
related field:

Market
The main emphasis on designing these strategies is to increase revenue and customer as
well, states Phillip Cottrell- Spain. It is important to know about the nature of the people and
environment that you are targeting, especially in this competitive business world. Indeed, it
will get challenging but the key factor is keeping up with the change that takes place globally
and locally. For example, one of the popular clubs in Belize City known as Club Elite has
been known as the hotspot and place to be on a Friday night. Marketing consultancies are
selected to host huge events such like these. When it comes to promoting an event for a client,
it is important that the consultant picks a venue that brings comfort and safety; this will
determine the amount of people that will be drawn to the event. Secondly, the environment
must not remind them of being at a regular old club, the appearance such as flooring, lights,
and bathroom facilities must be up to a standard that wants them to feel important and

satisfied. Giving the proper consultant to people will allow them to see the vision that they are
portraying.

Preparation
A marketing consultant should always be interactive when it comes to people and how they
run their businesses. I have always had an interest in facilitating organizations and construct
events when it came to coordinating events. It allowed me to learn from my mistakes. I had to
do a lot of research when it came to knowing popular DJs, and artist. They were not only
hired based on my judgment; but what the people want. Small details like the music, sticking
up of poster, TV Ads and staffing need to be in place. So it is important to build relationships
with people both interpersonal and intrapersonal to be able to advance to the next level of my
career. Presently, I am working on enhancing my knowledge on the accounts and
reconciliation process. This is one of the down falls in this business, not being to separate
business from personal financing. Having the training from fellow accountants, has prepared
me to be more effective in money management. All receipts are saved in alphabetical order,
and can be retraced back in the event that a problem should transpire. The business has gotten
international recognition due to personal achievements and improvements of the structure that
was out in to planning events; in the next five years, people will be allocated to do so.
Role
The role of a marketing consultant/ promoter is to capture the audience through efficient
organizing, directing, and seeing great production. It is also important to cater for everyone
needs as possible. If a dance is conducted one month for the younger people between the ages
of 18- 30, next month the consultant could cater to a different age range. He will be
responsible to supervise every event and conduct meetings to ensure that we find out the pros
and cons and how to improve them for the next events. Marketing consultants has supporters
who effectively provide finances and give evaluation on the events that were planned. Such as
venue, staffing, and efficiency so that they keep the relationship. Collaborating with
companies such as Bowen& Bowen or Belize Telemedia Limited in regards to selling their
products and getting it on the market. It is important for a marketing consultant/ promoter
because it helps the promoter in the future for discount and special deals that are given by the
company. So whenever a consultant is conducting meetings with these clients their operation
is a sure profit gain..

Skills
As a marketing consultant and promoter I have to be interactive and well rounded because
you are not only representing yourself, but my business reputation. Having communication,
management, and organizational skills is also important because it will help the business to
grow and give people an understanding of what youre producing. This will avoid having to
face calamity within the business if you would have to relocate and represent the business

outside your norm. Emphasis can always be added to another skill that is applicable for the
specific community. However, it is important that with my skills as a marketing
consultant/promoter I must have the legal aspects of the business secure. Qualification in the
respective field must be on hand at all times. This includes your diploma and certificates that
backs up your skills. Having legitimate documents such as license approved by GST.
Salary
A marketing consultant and promoter salaries are based on the qualification and mainly
experience that are presented. The starting salary raging from between $4000 a month also
includes life insurance and incentives such as gift packages from companies that you have
collaborated with throughout the year. Companies in Belize would be like Bowen& Bowen,
More FM, Belize Telemedia Limited etc. Other benefits would include going abroad to be a
part of trainings that can help the consultant developed more knowledge of the career, and
personal knowledge that will help you grows in the field. This can also eliminate some of my
duties as a promoter and enjoy the benefits that come with the job.
