She was the daughter of Zeus


She lived in Sparta with her mother
and had two sisters
Her mortal father, the king of Sparta
was worried that if he let one of her
suitors marry her, the others would
cause a war

and was famous
in Greece
She was
considered the
most beautiful
lady in the world
She had a
daughter and a
son

What did Helen do?


She went with Paris to Troy and started the
Trojan War because she wouldnt go back to
Greece, Paris was killed in the war
Caused a war the would last ten years
She married Menelaus and Paris and then
married Paris brother when Paris died
She turned against her country
Many years later she was returned to Greece

Fun Facts
All the young men wanted to marry her
Her father made all of the men swear to
protect her and then made them compete
in athletic games to see who would win
her hand in marriage, Menelaus won.
A prince from Troy named Paris visited
Sparta and took Helen to Troy
Her beauty caused trouble
None of the children she had with Paris
survived
