Eric was born in Norway
His real name is Eric Thorvaldson
He is called Eric the Red because of
his red hair
He was very brave

 He learned to hunt seal and walrus

on frozen seas north of Iceland as a
boy
He was extremely impressed with
Greenlands resources
He died in Norway

What did he do?

Tried to explore the new land during

the winter but couldnt because the
water around it was frozen.
Returned to Greenland bringing 25
ships and eager adventurers with
him

to move to a green
place so he told
them his new place
was called
Greenland
