The Trojan Horse

The Trojan horse is a huge, hollow, wooden horse. Was created in Ancient Greece. Odysseus was the mastermind behind it and helped make it. Was used to help win the war against the Trojans. More than 30 people hid inside it. When the Trojans saw it they thought it was a gift or peace offering to end the war so they put it in the middle of their town of Troy. The Greeks came out at night to defeat the Trojans using a rope to slide down.

The Trojan War

The Trojan War started because of one lady named Helen. People believe that she was abducted. For her return to her husband and daughter a large fleet of ships was sent over to Troy. The Trojan war went on for ten years. Some people thought it would never end. The Trojan war was one of the most important events in Greek history. Historians believe that the war took place in the 12th or 13th century. They also believe that Troy is located in present day Turkey, but it got destroyed in about 1230b.c. or 1180b.c. Egyptian text books talk about the Trojan war too. The Egyptian text books say the war had 22 cities though.
