Essential Question:
Taheerah-How can schools help to increase awareness around LGBTQ issues?
Imani- What pass movements have taken place in the LGBTQ community to
decrease discrimination and what else can be done?
Statement of Interest
Why are you interested in doing your ACP?
We are interested because, our ACP will actually help raise awareness
of these issues.Our motivation for doing this ACP is that some of our close friends and
ourselves are LGBTQ, the most motivation come from the gay/bisexual guys we know.
In this day and age guys are tormented more often than girls for being LGBT. Our goal is
to raising awareness of this problem, also making a change starting with our We
scholars and our community.
Project Overview and Goals
What will your project consist of?
We will interview selected students and ask different questions about things that
happens in our community dealing the LGBT community. We will also present those
interviews to selective grades within the student body so they will be able to see how
those people feel about LGBTQ issues. Also we will be selling selling and baked goods
every Wednesday to raise money to donate to A club in New Media Technology Charter
School for the LGBTQ community and supports. We will also be creating and distributing
surveys before and after presentation to assess change.
What actions will you be taking?
We will make sure people become aware of the issues, and making sure this
presentation will change the minds of the homophobes out there. We will also be doing
fundraisers to help support The Attic youth center
Where will you be going?
We will be going around the school and our community.
What do you hope to accomplish with your ACP?
We hope to Change the minds of the young people out there, and we also hope
answer any questions thats lingering around about the LGBT community. We would like
to raise at least $250 that can be given to the Club.

Specifically anyone who is a member of the LGBT community.

Students, Teachers, Staff, and Families
Materials
What will you need to accomplish your ACP?
We will need pre/post video survey selected students, an empty room to record,
and a camera.
For our sells we will need the food.
How will you create or gather these materials?
We will ask permission from the CEO, principal and the technology teachers

February 19, 2015 Create interview questions
February 26, 2015- Select people we will interviewed
Every Wednesday in April 1, 2015- candy, and Bake goods will be sold by the
auditorium.
April 7, 2015- Began documentary (recording)
April 24, 2015- End documentary (recording)
April 29, 2015- Finish editing
May 1, 2015- Show documentary to selected audience
