HERKIMER, NY With a player included at every position in this years All Mountain Valley
Conference Team, the Herkimer Generals mens lacrosse team had seven players included from their 2015
squad on Monday (4/27), a season where the Generals went undefeated in conference play (3-0).
Sophomore Jeremy Mowrey (Johnstown, NY) was selected from his attack position, a season in
which Mowrey was second on the team in goals with 36. Helping Mowrey to those totals was three games
where he netted at least five goals, coming through with his best effort in the Region III quarterfinals
where he had a season-high six goals. His sixth goal of the game ended the contest, scoring with 36
seconds left in overtime, helping the Generals advance with an 11-10 victory over SUNY Delhi at
Wehrum Stadium.
The Generals best representation came from midfield, where Cristian Ojeda (Ossining, NY),
Isaac Miranda (Norwalk, CT) and Jonathan Magaletti (Amsterdam, NY) compiled three of the six spots
represented. Ojeda played in all 12 games for the Generals, accumulating 18 goals, seven assists and 42
ground balls. The sophomore had a season-high five goals scored against Tompkins-Cortland in a 14-7
victory over the Panthers. As for Miranda, the freshman had 14 goals, 13 assists and 49 ground balls in 11
games, saving his best for conference rival Mohawk Valley. Miranda had four goals and two assists in the
contest, defeating the Hawks 17-4. Finally, Magaletti had three goals, two assists and 35 ground balls in
12 appearances in 2015. His best offensive performance came in a 27-6 victory over Hudson Valley where
Magaletti netted two goals.
Kyle Dunn (Kingston, NY) and Paul Ballard Jr. (Norwalk, CT) represented Herkimer on defense.
Both players helped allow less than 10 goals in eight of the 12 games the Generals played in, amassing a

combined 36 ground balls, 24 going to Dunn and 12 to Ballard Jr. Dunn also managed some offense for
Herkimer in 2015, netting one goal against SUNY Broome in the team second game of the season.
Rounding out nominations for the Generals from the goalie position was Mario Diaz (New
Rochelle, NY). The sophomore played in eight games, allowing on average 9.60 goals per game. His best
performance came against defending champion Onondaga Community College. In three quarter of play,
Diaz saved eight shots, only allowing 10 goals to the best offense in the country.
All seven of these players had a big impact on the success we had this spring, said Head Mens
Lacrosse Coach Jamie Ireland. They allowed this team to gel and get in the rhythm needed to be better
on the field. That rhythm resulted in a 3-0 record in the Mountain Valley Conference!
