Collaboration with peers, near-peers, mentors outside their classroom and often beyond their school: The students will have collaboration with peers by reading one anothers poems on kid pub. Using kid pub to publish their poems will also allow family and friends to be able to view their work as well, which promotes collaboration with peers beyond their classroom. b. Student-centered learning and knowledge creation (collecting original data and or producing original products as a result of engaging in the project): The students will have to think for themselves and decide what color they want to write their poem on and what they want to write about. c. Higher-order thinking: Students will be required to think out of the box by picking their color and thinking about an object/idea/ or thing that relates to that color. d. Students publishing their original work to others who will use/care about their product: Students will publish their work to family, friends, their instructor, and their classmates on kid pub. How could you implement this proposed learning experience and still comply with your districts Internet Safety and Student Privacy policies? Keep students safe and closely monitor their student record, make sure the computers that the children are using are monitored/ have a filter. Also, Make sure to walk around constantly and watch the children while they are using the computers.
