Lesson Plan!
Elementary: ELL !

I will channel Dianas urge to talk into tasks that pertain to my instruction. For example, I could
have Diana and another student discuss a question I assigned that will lead into the lesson. I
will also, for her specific group/table, assign cooperative learning groups, with each member of
the group taking a specific role - recorder, timer, analyzer, etc. This structure will give her an
opportunity to talk within a learning framework. I will also, before each lesson, take a few
minutes and have the the class stand and do light exercise moments such as knee bends,
stretching, or jumping jacks spiking the students (especially Diana) heart rate and increase
blood blow to the brain which will help Diana concentrate. Also, by asking the students to read
aloud (popcorn read), it will help Diana be more focused and involved in the lesson. !

The most effective way I could address these seven students with IEPs in the classroom if b
clearly stating the objectives that I want the students to learn, giving an introduction to the
lesson, engage the students in learning activities designed to help them learn with desired
content or skill, and opportunity for them to practice tile I provide them with feedback, have a
summary or closing lesson, and assess the students on what they learned. Also, by focusing on
the core knowledge of each subject area, I will be able to meet the brag range of the students
with disorders in my classroom. I will also make sure that those with disorders sit next to
students who are on task and ready to learn. I will also swing by their tables periodically to make
sure they are on task. In addition, I will make sure they are as close to the front of the room as
possible. !
