Topic 1: Scenes at the Beach

Read the text below.

It was a sunny Sunday. As it was a hot day, our
parents decided to take us to the beach. We were very
excited and made the necessary preparations.
When we arrived, the beach was already packed
with people. We could feel their sense of excitement.
The smell of salty sea water was in the air as the wind
blew gently across our faces. After our father parked
the car, we helped to unload the rattan picnic basket,
yellow mat and beach umbrella from the boot. We then
ran towards the seashore to find a cool, shady place to
put our things.
We saw many activities on the beach. Three
children were diligently building sandcastles. To our
left, a group of teenagers were playing beach volleyball
enthusiastically. Many people were swimming and
splashing water at one another in the sea. We could
see a few children playing with a ball. From a distance,
we could see a few sailboats with their colourful sails
standing upright against the wind. Higher up in the sky,
we could hear the loud cries of seagulls as they circled
in the air.

I helped my parents and siblings lay the mat and

food from the picnic basket. After that was done, I took
snapshots of the beautiful scenes before me.
