The teacher will try and not focus the attention for too long on one or two
students and try and have a bigger view on the entire class.
The teacher will make sure the students shoot appropriate ranged shots and
make sure people arent in the way of the basket when shooting.

Special Considerations What are the safety concerns? What is

unique about the students in this class?
The students should be aware of other basketballs potentially coming into
their area while playing.

Warm-Up Activity- Dribbling

Rules of the activity:
The students will get a ball, find
their own personal space, and
experiment dribbling on their
own. The students will dribble
the ball with their non-dominant
hand, or dribble through their
legs if they are advanced. If the
students are having trouble, they
will try to go for a set number of
consecutive dribbles in a row.
The students will determine a set
number for themselves and try
and dribble the ball that many
times consecutively.

Transition- The students will

wait where they are in their own
personal space and wait for
further instructions.
Activity #1- Dribbling Knockout
Rules of the activity:
The students will be in groups of
7-8 inside the 3-point arc. The
students will dribble the ball
while trying to steal the ball away
from their opponents. The last
student left standing is declared
the winner. The teacher will
select students based on their
dribbling ability to decide groups.

Activity #2- Passing on the

Move/ Lay-up Lines

The students will be in 2 lines at
a hoop and their one line will

Activity #3- Knockout

Rules of the activity:
The students will be in a line
starting at the free-throw line and
the first two students will have
basketballs. The goal is to make
a basket before the person
behind you does. If you miss the
basket, you get your rebound and
can dribble the ball to the hoop
and shoot or shoot from where
you get your rebound from. If
the person behind you makes a
basket before you do, you are
knocked out. The game goes
until there is one person left, that
person is declared the winner.
The students will be put in
groups by shooting ability
selected by the teacher. If the
students want to move the
starting line closer than the freethrow line because of their
shooting ability, then they can do
so.
TransitionThe students will put the
basketballs away and wait by the
meeting place when done.
