7th LA
Monday: Comp. lab begin researching topics for science projects. Introduce InfoOhio
database search. Go through the process of searching and downloading articles.
Identify 2 topics with hypothesis questions to be answered through research. Read
example of scientific writing pieces on handout.
Tuesday: Continue research for science topics. Introduce how to highlight portions of
text needed for research project.
Wednesday: Finish research. Begin typing summary of research that answers original
hypothesis.
Thursday: Finish typing research summaries.
Friday: Of the 2 topics researched, choose 1 for official project and begin to research
additional information. Keep folder of saved documents.
8th LA
Monday: Comp. lab Finish Civil War poems. Type final draft and illustrate. Share
poems with class. Identify point of view, figurative language, themes, word choice, and
structure.
Tuesday: Read story about the Declaration of Independence and MLKs March on
Washington. Complete with partner and answer questions.
Wednesday: DC
Thursday: DC
Friday: DC

Monday: Finish reading Readers Theater of The Diary of Anne Frank. Answer
questions in blue margins.
Tuesday: Finish reading Readers Theater of The Diary of Anne Frank. Answer

Thursday: Read independent book report novels. Begin work on literary elements
