Description of how to implement in the class: Students will pick an image of
their favorite vegetable to be used in the data collection. Once everyone has picked a
vegetable the teacher will collect the data and create multiple graphs; picture graphs,
pie, and bar graphs. The teacher will guide the students through the graph making
process. Once the graphs are formed together the class will analyze the graphs
making comparisons and pointing out differences.
Level of Technology Implementation (LoTi): The LoTi level reached is a 3 with
students creating their own graphs and collecting data from their classmates. I can go
up a level if I display the graphs for others to view.
Description of the sample spreadsheet and graph/chart provided *: The
graph provided depicts students preferred vegetable out of the options given;
tomato, corn, broccoli or carrots. I have displayed both a bar graph and a picture
graphs of the same result. For each student is represented by one vegetable.
Other comments about your proposed spreadsheet/graph/chart activity:
GraphClub is a very simple tool that can be used when introducing graphs. Graphclub
is also easy to use and easy to comprehend the graphs that have been produced.
