Clarification from
Randy Murray
Please consider the following for clarification of the email I sent out on Tuesday
April 28, 2015 Merritt BC: Arrests loom as
Nicola Valley Residents Vow to Stand Firm.
I sent this communication expressing my
personal thoughts and did not send it on behalf of the Thompson Nicola Regional District or any of its directors. The Directors were
ccd only to ensure transparency in my communication as I understand how important
our board considers being open to all sides of
an issue in determining the appropriate
course of action. My response was driven by
my concern for the constituents in the Nicola
Valley that have spent long hours expressing
their feelings through assembly and action.
Despite what was an emotional plea for
help to resolve this situation I remain
clearly focused on the examination and
careful consideration of existing processes
and procedures as well as all alternatives
for the future effective management of
Biosolids in BC in order to determine what
is best for all that live, work and visit here.
Should any issue, resolution, bylaw or other
decision come before the TNRD Board for
consideration, determination or exercise of
discretion I will carefully evaluate all positions, information and considerations
brought to the Board and I will continue to
have an open mind and be capable of persuasion in my evaluation of such matters.
April 28 [As the one of the TNRD local government representatives of the Regional District I
am appalled by the BC government decision to refuse to negotiate with the group of concerned citizens against the poisoning and devaluing of their
local environment. By supporting the misguided
business interests of a few they have set the stage
for this confrontation. By taking the side of big business they have issued tacit approval to the sludge
companies to garner supreme court approval of an
injunction that will force the issue. What insanity.
Do you not listen to the people of this
province stop the uncontrolled spread of Bio
waste decide to do this differently... how hard is
that do not hide behind the outdated legislation
and science that allows this arcane practice. People
all over the world are waking up to this insanity
if it is truly Beautiful BC that matters then take a
stand and make it so. Enough. Do not introduce
dangerous unknown products into the food chain.
Why take the risk? We have been here before,
believed the science and paid the price. Please
stop and listen, lets work out a solution that supports future generations not endangers them].

Grant Them Each One Wish A married couple, both 60 years old, were celebrating their 35th
anniversary. During their party, a fairy appeared to congratulate them and grant them
each one wish. The wife wanted to travel around the world. The fairy waved her wand
and *poof* -- the wife had tickets in her hand for a world cruise. Next, the fairy asked the
husband what he wanted. He said, "I wish my wife was 30 years younger than me." So
the fairy picked up her wand and *poof* -- the husband was 90.
