Dear Professor Gia Barboza,
I am a student at Greater Egleston High School. All Greater Egleston students are required to perform six
hours of career internship every Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The Careers Internship Program
begins Friday, October 3, 2014.
I am writing to you because I am interested in developing my career skills at being a role model to the
young youth. The reason why I am interested in volunteering at Northeastern University is because I
want to gain knowledge and become well educated on the commodities affecting my community today
positively or negatively.
I believe my skills will be a great match for your organization for the following reasons:
1. I am responsible and reliable;
2. I can perform a range of tasks well;
3. I possess many strengths and am willing to learn from others to improve in areas that I
am less familiar with; and
4. I can take directions from others; and
5. I am motivated to work at your organization.
I hope you will consider my request to volunteer at Northeastern University . I know I can make positive
