I recently saw an ad for an open position as an SAT Prep tutor on the Arizona State University
job postings site and I would like to speak with you about the position. As a bit of a nerd myself,
your ad caught my attention right away. I was immediately reminded of my time spent studying
for the SAT and preparing for my future as a college student. During such an exciting and nerve-
wracking time, I believe I am a great candidate to provide guidance to high school students by
helping them prepare for the SAT.

I graduated from high school in 2016 and began my college career as an honors student at
Salisbury University. I have since transferred to Arizona State University and work full-time as a
barista at Starbucks. As a full-time employee and college student, I understand the pressures that
a lot of high school students face: deadlines, obligations, and mainly, decisions, decisions,
decisions. As a recent high school graduate myself, I can empathize with those students who
have high ambitions and a drive to succeed. For these reasons, I believe I can be a great mentor
and guide as they navigate their first time taking the SAT.

In addition, my Critical Reading Score of 720 on the SAT falls into the 96th percentile and my
writing score of 600 is in the 82nd percentile. As specified in the ad, I understand that I must
have a score in the 90th percentile for each section of the SAT and I would be happy to retake it.
I am confident in my abilities as a test-taker and I am always up for a new challenge.

Ultimately, I am a lifelong learner and teacher at heart and I would love the opportunity to help
others achieve their dreams. I am confident that my experience and drive will make a great
