Dear Scholarship Committee:

My name is Kynli Combs, and I feel I am a perfect candidate for the _______ scholarship. I am
currently a senior at York High. After high school, I plan to pursue a degree in pre-dental at a
four-year university in Nebraska. I believe I have the desired set of skills to flourish in the
dentistry field because I have always seen myself going into health care and helping others. I
look forward to having a positive future and loving my job.

I believe my experience and involvement have helped me develop many crucial skills and traits.
The number of hours I have spent participating in my activities and groups, along with my
leadership roles in these activities, has proven that I am prepared for college and am a great
candidate for this scholarship. Throughout my high school career, I have participated in softball,
basketball, track and field, and trap shooting along with balancing clubs such as FFA, FCA,
Skills USA, National Honor Society, Young Women of Excellence, and Methodist Youth Group. I
have managed to keep my academic success as my top priority in my four years of high school
and will continue that through college. I challenged myself with college classes starting when I
was a sophomore through my last semester of senior year. I will graduate with 34 hours of
college credits. My hard work and dedication to my academics have paid off as I am ranked 5th
out of 104 in the class of 2024 with a GPA of 4.0. I have been recognized for high distinction
honor roll all eight semesters and have been named on Academic All-State. I have attempted to
prepare myself as much as I can for the challenging environment of college. These activities
and experiences have helped to make me a well-rounded individual.

As I get closer to proceeding with my education at a higher level, the financial responsibilities
fall into my hands. I want to be able to pay for my college education as my parents are
supporting my two siblings along with paying off their own student loan debt. I have shadowed
countless hours at York Dental Associates finalizing my decision of an occupation. I work
multiple jobs at once to have a stable base for college. I work for an exterior house painting
crew balancing my busy babysitting schedule. I was employed as a CNA at York General
Hearthstone for over a year but unfortunately was unable to continue due to my busy schedule
with sports and other activities.

This scholarship will help me as I plan to attend a four-year university in Nebraska to earn a
degree in pre-dental and continue to get my doctorate in dental surgery. I cannot express how
excited I am to develop my experience in college and continue on into the next chapter of my
life with employment. Thank you for your time, consideration, and investment in education at
York High School and beyond.

Sincerely,

Kynli Combs
