Dear Mrs. Borges,

When I think of being an ICU Nurse, the first word that comes to mind is commitment. Your job
is to not only keep someone alive and healthy but balance many other life responsibilities. Ever
since I was young, I have waited to become a nurse and start helping in the medical field. I
believe that through your guidance and an internship at Kaiser I would be able to heighten my
medical abilities and gain more experience in the field. This opportunity would be a great fit for
me because of my passion for learning and my drive to help.

I've stayed committed to my educational career by maintaining a 3.8 GPA or above and
challenging myself by taking an honors class. Along with this, I've also been involved in
activities outside of academics. Some consist of being in my high school’s Leadership program. I
have been a member for one year now and I’m moving onto my second next year. Outside of
school activities, I enjoy playing year round travel softball, basketball, showing livestock for
FFA, and taking pictures. Taking more difficult classes and participating in extracurriculars have
taught me how to balance my time and prioritize my passions. Any opportunity to learn patient
care skills or different perspectives on this profession I have taken in and am always eager to
observe and learn every day. I'd love to be able to exhibit my medical passion by working at
Kaiser.
