    ELL in 10 years.
    Based on our class discussions, it would appear that ELL and LEP
    students are becoming more and more common in English-speaking
    classrooms. As a result, it is important for general education teachers
    to gain background about ESL techniques and services. At this time,
    there is a shift away from bilingual education programs and towards
    English-only immersion programs. This shift makes it essential that
    there are more qualified professionals to assist these students in their
    transitions to the English language. ELL is a growing field that will
    continue to grow as our population continues to become more diverse.
