The trip to the too nature center was one of many mixed emotion. The class and I went to
study a blacksmith. We learned all different ways to heat metal and all different ways to stoke
the fire with coals. We also learned that at 1800 degrees metal is at the perfect temperature to
pound and form different metal. There are many different types of blacksmithing such as a forge
welds. This is where you heat to metals together and fuse them together using flux.
The trip the center was on a very nice day where they forge was hidden into the side of
the compound and the forge itself was no bigger than a small little hut. We learned many new
useful skills such as making nails and spoons and hangers and many other thing. There are many
different ways such as creating a tapper into a nail or creating a twist into certain rods for looks.
We learned all the uses of the anvil overall the trip 2was very informational and was pretty cool.
