Macro-Mechanics: (8 hrs) Basic stress-strain relationships for anisotropic materials, engineering constants for orthotropic materials, stress-strain relations for a lamina of arbitrary orientation, effective moduli, invariant properties of an orthotropic lamina, Strength of an orthotropic lamina. special cases of laminate stiffness, laminate strength analysis, failure theories for lamina, concept of inter-laminar stresses and delamination.
