WOT grows and changes

Thanks to our active rating community, WOT is
one of the most essential browser add-ons for
Firefox and Internet Explorer. We have recently
surpassed six million downloads and gained a
new valuable partner in the computer security
space, Panda Security.
With the growth of our small business, we
decided that now would be a good time to make a
name change that reflects the brand we are
building. Our new company name is WOT
Services Ltd., and it replaces
Against Intuition Inc.
To reflect our global community,
we have changed the look and
layout of the WOT homepage.

section. This map shows the
requests coming to the WOT
servers from each continent
hourly. As I write this, Europe is in the middle of
their work day, Asia is having dinner, and the
USA is yawning and hitting the snooze button.
WOT HQ has a tiny but talented staff who, as
people in small businesses must, wear many hats.
This month we bid a fond farewell, to the man who
wore the captain’s hat for almost two years, WOT’s
CEO, Esa Suurio. Esa’s creative guidance brought
WOT to the success we now enjoy and he will be
sorely missed.

asset and even though we celebrate the number of
downloads, think about branding
and design, and have changes in
leadership, we realize that it’s you
who makes WOT truly successful.

 WOT Wiki
Our community asked for a WOT wiki, and we have
delivered. If you are a registered member of WOT,
you have access to the new WOT wiki. There is not
much structure yet, but with the collaborative help of
our community, we can build a wiki that expands the
information we have on our website. Start right away
on http://www.mywot.com/wiki

Translation feature
The WOT community speaks different languages, but we all share the
same goal of keeping the Internet safe. To ease communication
between our users, we have added a "translate" link for scorecard
comments and postings on the WOT blog and forum. It works when the
comment is written in a different language than the site's language. All
you do is click on the translate link once and it replaces the comment
with a translation. Clicking it again restores the original comment. This
clever addition uses the Google Translation API.

When writing comments in any language, please consider the following:

• Be objective and truthful. Useful Avoid these:

comments include not only whether you
liked or disliked a site, service or product, • Obscenities, discriminatory language or other
but also why. language not suitable for a public forum

I was scammed big time from mailsmoney.net, I did the ugpgrade to the tune of $200.00 . The Upgrade
was to include a new laptop pc. sent out within 24 hours, 200 referrals in my downline, and I could cash

WOT on the Web

Every Friday In Germany, computer expert Jörg reports about current trends
and innovations from the world of computers on the TV show Angeklickt
(Clicked). WOT welcomes all of our new German users who came to know us
from this show. Thanks, Jörg!

Respected technology magazine, PC Mag, wrote a quick review of WOT in

August. Overall it was good, and we are happy to be featured on such a
popular website. The slideshow is fantastic, and author Neil J. Rubenking
explains the value of WOT, ”the more users participate, the more accurate and
useful Web of Trust is. ”

PhishTank is one of WOT’s trusted sources and friends. Together our

communities are battling phishing and spam. You can help your fellow web
users and fight phishers through submitting data directly to PhishTank. Help the
fight against phishing with Phishtank tells you how.

Security company, Symantec, released a list of the ”Dirtiest Web Sites of

Summer 2009” recently. Matthew at geek.com explains that these are websites
that pose the greatest risk to users if visited, and while the usual suspects
show up, there are also some surprises. His reputation solution of choice is

Just in time for back to school—The WOT Plug-in for Firefox is recommended
in an informative blog maintained by students at Globe University / Minnesota
School of Business. WOT users know how WOT can help keep their browsing
