Objectives:
- General objective (aim): Classification of animals
-

Specific objectives (learning outcomes):

Students will be knowledgeable about meaning of aquatic and terrestrial animals
Students will be able to distinguish between aquatic and terrestrial animals pictures

Instructional Procedures:
Session 1.
Materials needed:
-

Planned beginning:
We use classification to make our lives easier .so we can memorize , remember, or deal
with things fluently. As we classify and organize our clothes we put socks together and
our panties together so if we want any it will be easy for us to bring it since we are used
that there is its place . Everything in live can be categorized for example animals is a
very big family some live under water like fish and some on land like kitties.
So we can organize them into two groups according to their characteristics.

Body
Show students pictures for both groups so they can remember the names of the animals
and try to help them memorize to what group they do belong

Natural environments and the animals that live in them can be categorized as aquatic (water)
or terrestrial (land).
An aquatic animal is an animal, either vertebrate or invertebrate, which lives in water for most
or all of its life.[1] It may breathe air or extract its oxygen from that dissolved in water through
specialized organs
called gills, or directly through its skin. Examples: Starfish ,Octopus

Terrestrial animals live on land. Most have lungs to breathe air and their limbs are usually
stronger (it takes more strength to support body weight on land than in water) and adapted to
move on land.

Closure:
Ask students to search for new animal names and pictures of both groups with their
families

Session 2. Same as the above

Ask students to list what they got pictures and discuss if they are right or wrong

Body

Recall what they have studied last session about different group and how they breath and
how do we classify them

Closure:

Play the sorting game to convince them that classifying is enjoyable and we use even to
play and have fun

Assessment:
Formative:
Some questions " what is the name of this animal and of what type it is " , "how this animal
breath " ,
Using the sorting the animals" game to check if the student can differentiate between the 2
groups of animals

Summative: Giving exam after 1 week from the first session
