1. You are given 10 minutes to prepare borders and title block
2. This paper is marked out of 60.
3. Border and complete title block value 5 marks.
4. You are required to do TWO questions. All students must do QUESTION 1 and
any other question.
5. All dimensions are in millimeters unless otherwise stated.
6. The number of each question must be written beside the solution.
7. Figures are not necessarily drawn to scale (full size).
8. Students can keep question sheets.
9. ALL CONSTRUCTIONS MUST BE SHOWN.

Section A (40 marks)


Instruction(s): Answer the question in this section. Add a suitable title block to your drawing
paper. Your title block values 10 marks and should include information on:
a) Name
b) Title of drawing
c) Angle of Projection symbol
d) Date
e) Class
f) Scale

QUESTION 1 (40 marks)


Figure 1 shows a tool post slide drawn in oblique projection (not drawn to scale). The base of
the block is designed with a 60o dovetail to provide the sliding motion.

a) A front elevation from the direction of the arrow as indicated

Instruction(s): Answer one question in this section. Section B should be done on the back of
the drawing paper.
QUESTION 2 (10 marks)
Figure 2 shows a block drawn in isometric projection. Reconstruct the block using
CABINET oblique projection with face X parallel to the plane of projection. Each construction
square represents a 10 mm measurement.

Figure 3 shows a VEE BLOCK drawn in isometric projection. Reconstruct the block using
CAVALIER oblique projection with face Y parallel to the plane of projection.
