Generic Description Shear wave velocity, Penetration Test, N Strength,
Su
Vs (m/s)
(blows/ft)
(kPa)
Every soil profile that has one characteristic or more such as
follows.
- Rupture failure due to earthquake such as liquefaction, very
sensitive clay, weak cemented soil
- Organic Clay or Peat (H > 3m)
- Clay with high plasticity (H > 7.5m and PI > 75)

Special Soil (SF)

Soft clay with H > 35m and

< 50 kPa

In Table 1 above, , ,
are the average values of each soil laer that can be determined by
using a weighting method with the following Equations (2), (3), and (4)

Where
is the Soil Thickness of the
soil layer,
is the shear wave velocity through the
soil layer,
is the value SPT of the
soil layer,
is the undrained shear strength of
the
soil layer and m is the number of soil layer. PI is the Plasticity Index of the clay, the
is natural moisture content and
is undrained shear strength of the soil.

1.4.2 Subsurface Profile & Properties

a. SUB SURFACE CONDITION
The subsurface condition described in the boring log was based on the visual identification of the
continuous core samples, field testing, and laboratory test data. The subsurface soil profiles in the
site are consisted of the following Table 2 General soil profile.
