BS Architecture III-1

Archt. Jocelyn Lutap

What do I expect to this subject and what would I commit

with it?

The Philippine Architecture was reflected to its heritage and cultural substance.
In the habitation of people, churches and mosques has risen in the longing of the
architecture. Philippine architecture today is given and absorb by various influence of
our culture and other tribes. The Philippine's architectural landscape is a contrast
among small traditional huts built of wood, bamboo, nipa, grass, and other native
materials. And as an expectation with History of Architecture IV, I would definitely
identify other principles behind Philippine Architecture. Those materials, philosophy and
socialization of people in which this Architecture was conducted.
Another more, I also expect in this subject on learning why would our nation built
such designs for their houses and such dwellings. What would be their contributions,
what would be the contributions of other countries to our country in terms of
Architecture. What would be the importance of those heritage sites, of those nocturnal
buildings and those details described in each of their occupancy. What would be the
Style of Philippine Architecture, Its principle, its catalog and its presence?
And lastly as a commitment to Philippine Architecture, It is a great impact to
design Filipino culture and architecture by incorporating sustainable design in which to
be learned and diagnose in this subject.
