PRESENT A NEAT SOLUTION TO EACH PROBLEM.

SUBMIT in BOND PAPERS.

FOR SECTION A06, bring two booklets, one to be used in LONG EXAM 3 and
the other in the FINAL EXAM.

1. A regular square pyramid has a base whose area is 25 sq. in. A section
parallel to the base and 3.18 in. above it has an area of 4 sq. in. Find the
ratio of the volume of the frustum to the volume of the pyramid.
( Ans: 117 / 125 )
2. Find the volume of a frustum of a regular hexagonal pyramid the sides of
whose bases are 5 m. and 10 m., respectively, and whose altitude is 15 m.
Also find the LSA.
(Ans: 2,273 cu. m.)
(Ans: 702.45 sq. m.)

3. How many square feet of tin are required to make a funnel, if the diameters
of the top and bottom are 28 in. and 14 in., respectively, and the height is 24
in.?
( Ans: 11.454 sq. ft. )
4. The given figure represents a truncated triangular prism. Angle BAC = 90.
The lateral edges AD, BE, CF are perpendicular to the base ABC. If AB = 8 in.,
AC = 6 in., AD = 10 in., BE = 6 in.,
CF = 8 in., find (a) the lateral area; (b)
the total area; and (c) the volume.

5. A right truncated cylinder has a base radius of 5 in. If e max. is 15 in. and emin.
is 12 in., what is its capacity?

( Ans: 1060.29 cu.in )

6. A gemstone w/ plane surfaces and, upper & lower bases in parallel planes,
has the dimensions shown.Determine the volume if parallelogram BDGF &
trapezoid ACDB are perpendicular.

( Ans: V = 144 cubic units )

7. A spherical bowl was filled to a depth of 6 in. with a mixture of compound

from equal parts of two liquids, one white and the other red. After standing
for a short time, the mixture separated, the red liquid settling below the
white. If the thickness of the segment of white liquid is 2 in. find the volume
of the liquid in the bowl. Ans 603.19 in3
