Select the brush 992 (number 11) and reduce the size to around 700px
Turn off the visibility of the duplicate layer and make the original heart layer
active
Using the Eraser Tool or your preferred method, erase all of the heart, just
leaving the swirl:
Restore visibility to the duplicate layer and make it the active layer
Using the Eraser Tool or your preferred method, erase all of the swirl, just
leaving the heart:
Make the swirl layer active
Using the Lasso Tool, select a part of the swirl that will need to be in front of the
heart:
Edit>Cut, Edit>Paste (Ctrl + C, Ctrl + V) – in the layers palette drag the layer to
the top.
Move the swirl piece into place using the Move Tool and the arrow keys for
precise placement.
Repeat until you have all parts of the swirl that you want at the front of the heart
Double click on heart layer in the layers palette to bring up the blending options
and apply the following Gradient Overlay and Bevel & Emboss settings:
Double click on the swirl layer in the layers palette to bring up the blending
options and apply the following Color Overlay and Bevel & Emboss settings:
Copy and paste the layer style to each of the layers with pieces of swirl by right
clicking the swirl layer, click on Copy Layer Style, then right click on each swirl-
piece layer and click on Paste Layer Style
Ctrl + T to transform the object, resize and rotate the image to fit nicely in the
curve of the heart.
Using the Eraser Tool, erase any parts that overlap the heart except the flowers:
Double click on the layer in the layers palette to bring up the blending options
and apply the following Drop Shadow, Bevel & Emboss and Gradient Overlay
settings:
Open the roses picture
Select>All
Edit>Copy (Ctrl + C)
Make your project active
Edit>Paste (Ctrl + V)
Place the roses on the swirl and reduce the layer opacity to around 88%
