I AM
For your second IRP project of sixth grade, you have chosen an autobiography or biography
about someone you find interesting. Reading about other peoples lives can be informational,
enjoyable, and also inspiring. We can learn about ourselves by reading about other people, as
well.
While you read your IRP, think about the following questions:

Why did I choose to read about this person?

What impact on society did this person have?
What are some of the important events that happened in this persons life?
What are some key dates in this persons life (birth, death, etc.)?
What is the most interesting fact about this person?

Once you have completed reading your book, you will have the once in a lifetime opportunity to
become the person you chose to read about!
Become the person??? How am I going to become my person????
You will be presenting a 3-5 minute speech to your peers about your persons life. This speech
should be written in first person (I) and should focus on the questions listed above. Not only
will you be telling your peers about your person, but you are to play the part. In other words,
you should dress up like your person, use their accent (if you can!), or bring in relevant props.
What needs to be handed in??????
A copy of your speech must accompany your presentation. This copy should be typed or in
black ink and should be centered around the focus questions. It should be detailed and in
paragraph format.
