The first thing I noticed when looking

at this poster is that there are no

characters on it, this makes the
poster seem isolated like a cabin in
the woods. The mystery background
also makes it feel isolated as you
cannot see anything.

There is also a lack of colour on the

poster, the colours used are dark
and bleak which is common for horror movie posters. Colour has connotation of happiness were as these
blend colours feel empty, sad and
scary.

The poster also has the names of

the producer, director and writer under the title. This will entice any fans
of the above to see the film. However they have kept this small so not
to take away from the simplicity of
the poster.

The poster has a small written

strapline above the title which says
you think you know the story .
This is a very effective strapline as
it addresses the reader directly and
gets rid of any previous assumptions of the film. The reader now will
feel like the cabin in the woods is
more mysterious.
The strapline also relates to the image of the cabin well as the cabin is
changing your idea of what the story
is.
The word cabin is the largest in
the title and is shown above this
is letting the viewer know that the
film the cabin will be the focus.

The colour scheme also gives you the

feel of being cold in a snowy wood.
The bottom corners of the poster look
like cracking ice again giving the poster a cold hostile feel.
