The document discusses ideas for a thriller film poster design. It describes the film as being about a lonely girl who isolates herself and develops hallucinations, eventually being committed to a mental asylum where she kills people. It analyzes posters for films like "It Follows" and "Let Me In", praising their use of bold fonts and images that increase curiosity. It also likes the simplicity of the "Carrie" poster, using only the title and image to intrigue viewers without extra information. It decides to replicate aspects of the "Let Me In" and "Carrie" posters that focus on the main character against a dark background to imply a gloomy, traumatic plot.

1. In summary my thriller film would be of a girl who is
lonely with no friends. This leads to her shutting herself out from society and locking herself up in her room/house. With no communication from the outside, this leads to her being mentally unstable and having hallucinations of ghosts/monsters. This finally leads to her getting put in mental asylum where she is put in a room. This then takes a turning point in which she neds up killing people in the mental asylum for not setting her free.
2. From the following posters, I personally like the font
and title design of the poster ‘it follows’. Mainly because it follows a different type of font compared to the other posters who use a similar type of writing font. The font of the poster is more on to what I am looking for in my poster. As well as it being written Unit 28 Learning Aim C
with the colour red emphasises the title in bold. This
will help my audience get an idea that this movie will be dark and involve blood.
3. A specific poster that I like is the poster for ‘let me in’.
this is because it has a far image shot of the girl in the middle all cradled up like a baby with the background being a dark, deep red colour. This increases the audiences level of curiosity, as to why this girl is all lonely with no other characters in the poster with her. The effect of this is that it will entice the audience into watching the film. The loneliness of the girl is similar to my movie in were the main character feels alone and nobody to turned to. 4. A film poster layout that I like is the poster for the film ‘Carrie’. I personally like this layout as it is simple with little to no words. Only the title and the main character. I like this layout as it can get straight to the point for the audience but also give no information to the audience. Something they would have to figure themselves. Which in turn makes them want to watch the film. The lay out of this poster also only uses the colours red and black two connotations of evil and disaster. This is something I will be using in my own poster as I want my poster to look as terrifying and haunting as it can be. 5. There are two posters that I would like to replicate which are, ‘let me in’ and ‘carrie’. This is because it focuses on the main character. With both using dark backgrounds, which give an impression of a gloomy, traumatising plot. I personally like how the poster for ‘carrie’ only has the character and title on its poster. This gives the idea of curiosity and suspension as to why she is drenched head to toe in to which seems like blood. This is something I would like to explore in my poster. Unit 28 Learning Aim C
