The objective of the scheme is to provide a house to
houseless families whose annual income is less than Rs 36,000/- and are not in the Permanent Wait List (PWL) prepared on the basis of BPL survey 2002. The scheme is 100% State sponsored. The main features of the scheme are given below : Minimum covered area for each house is 28.30 Sq. Mt. State Government provides subsidy of Rs 2.75 lakh for each house which includes Rs 0.30 lakh for installation of solar lights and fans. Arrangement
has
been
made
for
free
maintenance/servicing of solar light and fan for 5 years.
Design for construction of two rooms has been prescribed. For this purpose layout is prepared on each beneficiarys land by a technical expert at block level. However internal layout and design of rooms can be changed by the beneficiaries. Houses are in the name of women. If there is no female member then house is allotted to male member. Toilets are constructed with each house from the funds released to Panchayti Raj Deptt. by Government of India under
