SUBJECT: Interim Chief Nursing Officer

I am pleased to announce that effective June 18, 2015, Sharon Tourville, MSN, RN, will
serve as interim chief nursing officer for St. Joseph Health Northern California region.
Sharon will serve in this role until a permanent chief nursing officer is selected to replace
Tiffany Oliver, who is leaving St. Joseph Health Sonoma County to serve for another
organization.
With over 25 years of nursing leadership experience, Sharon is known for her fiscally
responsible style and flexible nature, which has resulted in operational efficiency and
positive patient care outcomes. She holds an Master of Science degree in Nursing
Administration from the University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire, and a Bachelor of Science
degree in Nursing from Viterbo University in La Cross, Philadelphia.
Prior to her position at St. Joseph, Sharon served numerous interim roles, including
executive advisor of Patient Experience at the University of California Davis Medical
Center; director of Oncology Services at Providence Portland Medical Center, Portland,
Ore.; director of Patient Care Experience at Kaiser Permanente Walnut Creek Medical
Center; and director of the Emergency Department at Sutter Memorial/General Hospitals in
Sacramento, among others. Her permanent roles have included COO/CNO at Childrens
Hospital of Michigan and senior vice president of Patient Care Services at CA Pacific
Medical Center in San Francisco.
Please join me in welcoming Sharon to her new interim role. Currently, executive search
firm Witt/Kieffer is seeking our permanent CNO replacement. As early as next week, they
will meet with Administration, Nursing, and physician leadership so they can provide job
specifications and context for the search.
In the meantime, I have the utmost confidence that Sharon will provide skilled guidance
during the interim period, ensuring our work remains in concert with our mission, vision
and values.
