Exodus 2:11-15 • A godly leader learns that he must obediently do what God tells him to do. c.f. Exodus Ch.3-7 The Building of a Godly Leader: Moses’ Objections 1. Who Am I that I should go? Ex. 3:11 2. What is your name, that I may tell people who sent me? Ex. 3:13 3. How would the people believe that you have sent me? Ex. 4:1 4. I am not eloquent; I am slow of speech. Ex. 4:10 5. Please send someone else [God gets angry at this point]. Ex. 4:13 OBJECTION ONE ANSWERED. • Who Am I that I should go? Ex. 3:11 • I will be with you; when you come out of Egypt, you will serve me on this mountain. Ex. 3:12 OBJECTION TWO ANSWERED. • What is your name, that I may tell people who sent me? (Exodus 7:1-5) The Building of a Godly Leader: The Man Stands • The First sign, and the first three plagues = Aaron • The fourth and fifth plagues = God • The sixth plague = Moses (and will continue through the ninth plague!) Exodus 9:9 “Let Moses!” Communion. • We have Communion weekly, because we have church weekly (1Cor. 16:2, 11:18; Acts 2:42; Rev. 1:10). • We take Communion with solemnity and joy because our Savior died for us (c.f. 1Cor 15:1ff It is of “first importance”) • We apply the sermon text to the weekly Communion, so we do not interpret it apart from Gospel lenses.
