Resolution on Water Scarcity

Alarmed by the lack of sanitation in countries around the world, particularly


Eurasia.
Noting with regret that governments do not have sufficient funds set aside to
finance internal works.
Recognizing the lack of health standards set by municipalities.
Emphasizing the need for more water desalination plants and improved
filtration systems.

1. Calls upon the World Health Organization (WHO) and Red Cross to
help provide fresh water supplies.
2. Further recommends that the World Health Organization and Red
Cross provide training sessions to governments on how to secure longterm freshwater supplies.
3. Requests that the World Bank loans sufficient funds to least
economically developed countries (LEDs), to aid the construction of
desalination plants which can produce up to 917, 431 gallons of water
a day.
4. Further requests that the World Bank provide additional funds to aid
the construction of sewage systems in LEDs in order to eliminate toxic
water.
5. Urges nations worldwide to promote further research of
nanotechnology,
6. Reminds the United Nations Development Committee (UNDC) that
water scarcity has been an important point on its agenda since 2006
and thus no action has yet been taken.
7. Further reminds the UNDC that a 26100 square kilometer pipeline to
deliver safe drinking water to developing nations has been proposed
and approved by the United Nations Childrens Education Fund

(UNICEF); this pipeline will also provide water for farming which could
boost nations gross domestic products (GDPs)
