The Roadvale Community Field day will provide an opportunity to learn more about a salinity study being conducted in the Roadvale area. Attendees will see field works demonstrating how to manage salt-affected paddocks, get an update on the investigation into the extent and levels of salinity in the upper Purga Creek catchment, and learn how to install and use salinity monitoring equipment like piezometers. The free event will be held on Saturday August 8th from 10am to 12:30pm at a meeting point in Roadvale.

Salinity has been an ongoing issue for landholders in the Roadvale area. Following an extensive salinity study undertaken by leading salinity expert Dr. Roger Shaw, SEQ Catchments has been working with partners and landholders to undertake a salinity study in the area. This field day is an opportunity to come and learn more about the project:
Discussions and inspection of field works
to manage salt affected paddocks.
Update on investigation into extent and
levels of salinity in the upper Purga Creek catchment.
Demonstration of salinity monitoring
equipment, including piezometer installation.
