Project Proposal:

Water and Erosion Management in UHDP Agroforest

Problem

In the UHDP Agroforests, there are many

uncovered soils
These soils are light colored, very hard and
have low fertility

Problem

Because these soils are very hard and have low

fertility, they do not infiltrate water well and
plants to do not grow easily here
Because soil is exposed, erosion is likely

Problem
Groundwater levels are also declining
This may be due neighboring land uses
and UHDP land use Without vegetation
cover, there is little groundwater recharge

Opportunity
To counter these problems - soil
infertility, erosion, poor infiltration
and declining groundwater levels
we can do two things:
Earth shaping (or earthworks)
Plants for erosion control and green
manure
