Problems identified
• Out of work farmers: Many skilled farmers with uncultivable lands are either
unemployed or are tending to small businesses instead.
• Environmental damage: There is a loss of biodiversity when a piece of land is
cleared for farming. Many farmlands in hilly areas also get converted to waste lands
due to extensive farming and harmful farming practices like shifting cultivation.
• Plastic wastes: The increase in the number of non-biodegradable plastic bottles has
caused numerous problems economically, ecologically and socially.
• Underdeveloped Irrigation Systems: Uncertain rains and short supply of water in
highlands makes agriculture in these regions unfruitful.

Solution
• Our product, the hydroponic kit, takes up to 90% of less land and 90% less water
compared to traditional soil based farming and it also reuses plastic wastes.
• This will help reduce environmental damage and the dependance on irrigation systems.
• It will help in the upliftment of small farmers by providing and teaching them the
hydroponic farming technique.
