Dear Parents and Guardians:

I am writing to introduce myself to you and describe some of the activities and procedures that your child
will be participating in at school. My name is Christina Stewart and I will be your childs Family and
Consumer Science teacher this year. I am a graduate of Texas State University (Go Bobcats!) and am
looking forward to working with my students to have an exciting educational experience.
Our class will be learning about Human services and Hospitality at the beginning of the year and moving
on to Fashion/Textiles and Food Science during the second half of the school year. Students will have
textbooks that they will bring home for completing projects and assignments and to use in studying for
quizzes and tests. Daily homework will be assigned in class and will be due the next day. In addition to
homework assignments the students will have 4 major projects due for the year, which include research
reports, group projects, individual projects and presentations. Due dates for all projects are listed in your
students notebook.
I hope I will get to meet you soon at the Open House scheduled for August 21, 2015!!
