Assignment 1: Printing, Packaging, and Exporting

This assignment taught us how to properly save, package, and export for printing purposes within InDesign. We learned about bleeds, margins, color separations, and color modes.

Assignment 2: Introduce Yourself

Here we used the basic tools taught during the lecture to produce a poster containing facts about
ourselves. We learned the fundamentals of fills, strokes, shapes, and frames.

Assignment 3: Two-Color Poster

We then learned how to create tint swatches and spot colors, and used them to create a poster
with only two colors and various tints. We also learned to use the Pen Tool.

Assignment 4: Newsletter
This was the first assignment to create a multi-page document, and we learned in-depth information about text frames, text wrapping, overflows, etc.

Assignment 5: Subway Map

In this assignment, we duplicated provided map examples with custom strokes and lines. We
also used the pen tool to create a custom logo, and practiced other tools we had learned along the
way.

Assignment 7: Die-Cut Packaging

I enjoyed this assignment quite a lot, as we got to be creative in our design, and I could very
easily begin to recognize the broad applications of die-cut printing. In fact, I started seeing it
everywhere!

Assignment 8: Twelve Month Calendar

This assignment was all about tables and tabs. We learned how to create custom tab sets to keep
alignment tidy. We also learned how to use various table tools, such as alternating row/column
styles, cell properties, and more.

Assignment 9: Book Assembly

We learned how to create an automatic table of contents using various type styles created
throughout a document, and how to put together multiple documents into a book.

Midterm: Duplicate Example

This was an engaging challenge to recall all of the tools and lessons we had learned through
the semester, I quite enjoyed it! It was almost a puzzle or game, using the skills we had been
practicing up until this point.
