My approach to teaching is based on the belief that learning is required to be

learner centered and that learners must be actively involved partners in the learning
process. One of my objectives in teaching is to facilitate learning by providing
opportunities for learners to gain the necessary skills to be able to take control and be
active participants in the learning experience. So my approach is to employ techniques
which are designed to challenge my learners by providing them with ample
opportunities to actively engage in their own learning.
The majority of my teaching is conducted in an online forum, I inform my
students that my role in the online classroom is to be a facilitator, not just a provider of
information. My role is using my expert knowledge as a ready resource for students to
tap into as necessary. Knowing that my learners are well equipped to find and evaluate
the resources they need to answer their questions.
The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically.
