Power Supply check:


Connect two feeders of 110V as per scheme at the cabinet
input terminals. Check for voltage availability at rack level.

Functional Test:
The testing to be done as per the FCDs. SBC operating
procedure is given as part of Test Instruction.

Hardware Level Tests:


At local bus level redundant local bus traffic director has been
provided. Local bus has to be brought active and standby bus
traffic director has to be activated. No change is expected in the
running condition.
Processor 1 & 2 are redundant PRO3. The selection to be
checked using switch S1.

OPERATING PROCEDURES
Enable Operation
The purpose of the ENABLE is to make a soot blower available
for service for reasons of operator preference or after
maintenance or repair. To enable a soot blower, dial the blower
number on THUMB WHEEL SWITCH, press EXECUTE PB &
ENABLE PB. Verify enabling of soot blower, press
ENABLECHECK PB. Mimic diagram lights will glow for all the
blowers enabled.

2.0

Disable Operation
The purpose of the DISABLE is to make a blower unavailable
for service for reasons of maintenance or operator preference
or repair. To disable a soot blower, dial the blower number on
THUMBWHEEL SWITCH. PRESS EXECUTE PB & DISABLE
PB. To verify disabling press DISABLE CHECK PB. Mimic
diagram light will glow for all the blowers disabled.
The status of the blowers (ENABLED/DISABLED) is stored in
non-volatile memory of PRO3, so that this will not be lost due to
power supply and the blowers will have the same status after
power supply returns.

(ii) AUX VLE UV0003 CLOSED & UV00002 OPEN must be
present.
(iii) AH MAIN (PS8516) STEAM PRESSURE LOW must be
present.
Or
AUX VLE UV0003 OPEN must be present.
SECONDARY AHB
(i)
(PS 8536) & PS8538 STEAM PR LOW must be absent.

MANUAL START
For manual start of a blower check the following conditions:
a.

MANUAL START PB light should be ON.

b.

BLOWER must be enabled.


MANUAL START PB light will be on if the following
conditions are satisfied.
a)

LOCAL/REMOTE switch is in remote position.

b)

No auto sequence selected.

c)

No fault in system.

d)

Main valve position OK (open)

e)

All blowers are in initial position.

For MANUAL START of any blower dial blower number


on THUMB WHEEL SWITCH, press both EXECUTIVE &
MANUAL START PB till MANUAL START PB light goes
out. (As all blowers in initial position condition will not be
available)

SELECTION OF AN AUTOMATIC PROGRAM (SEQUENCE)


A desired sequence can be selected by pressing the
PROGRAM SELECT PB. PROGRAM SELECT PB light will
glow. Only one SEQUENCE can be selected at a time.
PROGRAM OPERATING display indicates the number of the
program (Sequence) in operation or the last program selected.
During switching ON of the power supply this lamp will be reset
to O
STARTING OF AN AUTOMATIC PROGRAM:
a)

LOCAL/REMOTE switch in REMOTE position.

b)

No fault in system.

c)

All blowers in initial position.

d)

All Main valves position OK (open)

e)

For P6 program AH line valve OR Aux. Steam valve


open.

until,

START PROGRAM PB light glows.

MANUAL START PB light turns off (if it was ON)

PROGRAM OPERATING will display the number of the


selected sequence.

Completion of an automatic sequence will have the following


effects.

START PROGRAM PB light will go off.

b)

RESET PB light will be ON.

c)

MANUAL START PB light will be ON.

d)

PROGRAM OPERATING display will indicate the number


of the program last operated.

STOPPING OF AN AUTOMATIC SEQUENCE


An automatic sequence gets interrupted before completion, if
there is a fault in the system. Program operation will remain
suspended at that particular step where fault has occurred.
In the event of a fault the following indications will be availabe.
a)

Corresponding Alarm lamp on mimic will be ON.

b)

Lamp on the mimic diagram will flash showing the exact


step where the fault has occurred.

c)

RESET PB light will flash.

The fault can be reset by pressing the RESET PB after fault is


cleared.
5.04

RESET OF THE SEQUENCE


Any program/sequence which has been stopped before normal
completion due to fault may be restarted from the next step
from where it was stopped after resetting the fault by pressing
PROGRAM SELECT PB & START PROGRAM PB.

RESET OF AN AUTOMATIC PROGRAM


Any program which has been stopped before normal
completion of that program or an undesired sequence already
selected, can be reset to the beginning of the program by
pressing and holding its PROGRAM SELECT PB & RESET PB,
until PROGRAM SELECT PB light goes OFF.
The program may be restarted from the beginning by following
the steps indicated in starting of an automatic program.

6.0

SEQUENCE CHECK
Before starting of an automatic program, to know the blowers
selected in that sequence, press and hold PROGRAM SELECT
PB & SEQUENCE CHECK PB. On mimic diagram, lights will be
ON for all blowers put in that sequence. Release of any PB will
terminate the check.

7.0

PROGRAM CHECK
PROGRAM CHECK is done in the middle of an automatic
program. To do so press and hold PROGRAM SELECT PB &
PROGRAM CHECK PB. On mimic diagram lights will glow
steadily for all blowers that have already been operated and
lights will flash for all blowers that have not yet been operated.
Releasing the PB will terminate the check.

SEQUENTIAL OPERATION OF BLOWERS


AUTO SEQUENCE:
a)

Select the desired sequence by pressing PROGRAM


SELECT PB.

b)

ENSURE THAT

LOCAL/REMOTE SWITCH is in REMOTE position.

No fault in system

Main valve open

c)

Start the sequence by pressing desired PROGRAM


SELECT PB & START PROGRAM PB.

d)

Check the command output.

e)

If command output is available, change All blowers in


initial position to OFF, and then Blower Operating to
ON. Corresponding lamp on mimie diagram will glow.

f)

Now change Blower Operation to OFF and the lamp on


mimic will go OFF.

g)

Change All blower in initial position to ON. Now


command output will be available for next blower in
sequence.

h)

Repeat steps d to g.

i)

If a particular blower is disabled the output command will


not be available for that blower.

relay k143 will be energised.
