COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT PARTNERS
In order to reach our vision to become a community school, KHSA must become both
a physical hub and an extensive set of partnerships between the school, the workforce,
and the community. The school must address academic, health, social services, and youth
and community development issues. KHSA must bring together and engage partners and
resources needed to offer the range of support and opportunity our students, their
families, and the community needs.
Our community stakeholders view KHSAs Community Engagement Partners Program as
a significant strength. KHSA has focused on developing effective, strategic relationships
with the community to augment learning and successful outcomes for students and
graduates. The schools community partners have specific areas of focus in which they
offer support, including: general education, workforce development and health sciences,
and culture and other support.
In the general education area, support includes strategic school planning, faculty
recruitment, professional development, student teacher internships, in-class and after
school tutoring, SAT prep, college access and retention programs, and truancy prevention.
