The Student Services Programs (SSPs) are coordinated services designed to assist students in attaining
optimum self-actualization, becoming inner-directed persons and productive member of the society. The SSPs
complement the instructional Program. The current SSPs are Guidance Program, Health Services Program, Food
Service Program and Sewing Services.
1. To disseminate information regarding the services and functions of the Student Services Office.
2. To promote care for in-campus and off-school environment through the advocacy and social concern programs.
3. To provide guidance to children/students whose parents are overseas workers through accompaniment and
counseling service.
4. To facilitate linkages with government and non-government agencies for scholarships and grants to assist poor
but deserving students.
5. To provide information on health issues particularly HIV/AIDS and to maintain the well-being of students and
personnel through continuous medical and dental check-up.
6. To set guidelines and standards for proper food preparation and delivery in the food centers.
Guidance Program. The Guidance Program recognizes and addresses the assessed needs of the students. It
guides the students to discover their personality, abilities, talents and interests; to help students find solutions
to their problems, and to work independently in making wise decisions in life through testing, counseling,
information, inventory and follow-up services. All the services are aimed at supporting the instructional
program. Fundamentally, it facilitates the integral formation and full development of the students in
accordance with the School’s Vision, Mission and Goals.
Health Services Program. This Health services Program is designed to provide for the health needs of the
students and school’s personnel through consultation, referrals, periodic physical and dental examination and
first aid treatment. It also provides information on health issues and other health related topics like HIV –
AIDS, human sexually and endemic diseases. It provides regular information to parents of the Health
condition of their children.
Food Services Program. The Food Services Program is designed to provide nutritious snacks and well-
balanced meals that are served in the canteen. It provides an ambiance of a clean, sanitary and cozy
environment with healthy and gracious personnel.
Sewing Services. It is designed to provide students and School personnel the services of sewing school
uniforms to all students. Made to order uniforms are sewn by the school seamstress in the sewing room. This
is done to ensure the uniformity in design and style on the prescribed uniform.
STUDENTS AFFAIRS PRIGRAMS
The Student Affair program refers to the programs designed for the exploration, enhancement and
development of the student’s full potential for personal development, leadership and social responsibility through
various institutional and / or student- initiated activities. It is also a venue for the enhancement and development of
values and the Vincentian Spirituality among the students.
The co-curricular program of St. Louise de Marillac College of Sorsogon is an integral part of the
curriculum design. The factual concepts and theories gained by the students within the four walls of the classroom
are enriched and solidified by actual involvement and active participation in various co-curricular activities
sponsored by the school. To enhance student’s physical, social, spiritual, aesthetic, and mental growth and
development, SLMCS offer different clubs/ organizations.
Student Organization
St. Louise de Marillac College of Sorsogon gives recognition to the student organizations in accordance
with the pertinent rules and regulations of the school. These organizations are:
This organization is the coordinating body of all the students of the Higher Education Department. As such
its activities are geared towards developing the students into mature Christian, Louisean and Vincentian Filipinos
who will live and lead the community in line with Gospel values. It assist co-curricular organization in their
programs and plans of the activities for the attainment of the goals and objectives of the school.
It is composed of the President, Vice-president, Secretary, Treasurer, and Auditor who are elected at large
by the students and the departmental/curriculum officers who are chosen by their respective department/curriculum.
The LSG is under the advisorship of the Students Affairs Coordinator.
a. Formulate and recommend programs that will address relevant issues/ concerns of the students;
b. Plan and implement policies and programs designed to protect and promote students’ rights and welfare;
c. Monitor and evaluate students’ activities in the school and in the community;
d. Create committees necessary to address the needs of the students;
e. Make recommendation to school authorities regarding student matter, affairs and activities;
f. Serve as representative of the studentry in voicing their opinions, suggestions and grievances;
g. Have such other powers and duties as the school authorities and studentry may, from time to time,
objectives and school policies;
h. Monitor and supervise the elections of Student Government officers for the succeeding school year;
i. Turn over financial assets, papers, documents, properties and other responsibilities to the incoming Student
Government Officers; and
j. Submit financial accomplishment reports must be submitted to the school authorities and to the incoming
LSG Officers during the turnover of responsibilities.
RELIGIOUS ORGANIZATIONS
ACADEMIC ORGANIZATIONS
CIVIC ORGANIZATIONS
1. RCY (RED CROSS YOUTH). This organization is geared towards the development of the spirit of
humanitarianism and social service. Affiliated with the Philippine National Red Cross-Sorsogon Chapter, it gives
the members ample opportunities to participate in activities such as first aid training, clean and green, and other
civic oriented projects.
2. YCSC (YOUTH COMMUNITY SERVICE CLUB) . It is a nationally affiliated civic organization dedicated to
community service. They are the prime movers when it comes to community extension services.
3. SPORTS CLUB. It is an athletic organization attuned towards enhancing mind and body through physical
activities. It aims to promote sportsmanship and teamwork among its members.
4. GLEE CLUB AND THEATER ARTS. This organization aims to develop and bring out the best of student’s
talents in singing. Students are provided with opportunities to perform; those musically inclined actively participate
during all liturgical celebration of the college.
