Technology Integration Workshop- Unit 4

Part A

Lesson Plan Idea:

o In groups of 3-4, students will choose a character from the book we are reading
and create a Twitter page and profile. Based on class discussions that day they
will be responsible for posting one comment or topic of discussion from that
characters point of view. They will also have to respond to at least two other
characters posts that day.

Learning Objectives:
o Improve understanding of Shakespearean writing
o Encourage in class and out-of-class student discussions
o Promote student involvement with the reading, plot, and drawing individual
conclusions on authors purpose
o Develop students ability to work alone and in a group

Task Preparation:
o I would create a rubric for what must be included in the profile descriptions for
the characters (friends, enemies, plot, hobbies, etc.)
o I would then spend some class time showing students how to create a profile on
Twitter by creating the first character and discussion guidelines
o I would establish the guidelines of discussion posts and responses

Lesson Plan Descriptors:

o English Literature
o Hamlet (or other Shakespearean text)
o Grades 9-12
o Twitter (or other social media)
