The question is based on interference of the waves
Solution:
If the two waves are travelling in the same direction, it is possible with small amplitude
of the two resulting waves.
If the first wave is travelling in the forward direction which starts at time t=0 and the
second wave starts after some time and travelling in the same forward direction, the
difference in time causes the resulting amplitude as small. This is called phase difference
in the waves.
Answer:
Due to the phase difference, the resulting wave may have sampler amplitude than the
original waves.
