Course Description:
This course provides students with the knowledge to become industry certified PC technician. It
actually meets the specifications for two different industry certification programs, the PC Pro
certification and the CompTIA A+ certification.
For this course, we will use the Testout Labsim. TestOut PC Pro certification is a Certification
measures not just what you know, but what you can do. It also measures your ability to install,
manage, repair, and troubleshoot PC hardware and Windows operating system software.
CompTIAs A+ certification is an entry-level certification that verifies the student has the
knowledge equivalent to that of an entry-level IT professional with about 12 months of hands-on
experience. To obtain the CompTIA A+ certification, students must pass two exams: CompTIA
A+ Exam 220-801 and CompTIA A+ Exam 220-802
Approved work to do after finishing class work and assignment is http://www.number2.com/
We also follow TEAs Scope and Sequence guidelines for this course.

MAKE-UP WORK
Excused (Parent Excused, Excused, Medical, Field Trips) and Verified Absences
All missed work may be made up at full credit if completed immediately after returning to
class.
It is the students responsibility to initiate contact with the teacher to get make up work in
writing or email.
Work must be made up in a timely fashion, generally within the same number of days as
the absence (e.g. absent 2 days, work made up in 2 days).
Participation points may be lost due to absence. Students may possibly make up lost points
by working in the classroom/lab outside of class time or through alternate assignments
determined by the instructor.
Late Work:
Being late with assignments is, unfortunately, a common occurrence for some students. In an
effort to promote excellence and professionalism in all students, late work will be accepted
four class days late with the highest grade being 50. Work must be completed to receive the
grade. Any work turned in more than four days late will receive a grade of zero.
Modifications:
Course modification will be provided for students whose Individual Education Plan (IEP)
requires modifications or accommodations. Parents/Counselors have the responsibility to
make sure the teacher is aware of this need.
