Ms. Nelsons 5th grade class is performing a concert at Benaroya Hall at 7:00pm
on October 14th. There are 11 students in the orchestra, and twice that amount in
band. In choir, there are 14 girls and 10 boys. There will be over 200 people in
attendance. How many students will be performing in the concert?

Megan bought 5 books about animals and 7 books about plants. She also bought
a total of 8 magazines about cooking, weddings and sports. The books cost an
average of $13 a piece, and the magazines cost an average of $6 each. She gave
5 of the books away as presents, and let her sister have 3 of the magazines. How
much money did she spend in total?

The University of Washington plans on planting 26 cherry blossom trees on
the college campus. They are also going to plant 31 dogwood trees and 9
maple trees. There will need to be at least 20 volunteers to plant all of the
trees. If each cherry blossom tree costs $35, each dogwood costs $28 and
each maple is $31, how much money will it cost to plant all of the trees?

The schools baseball coach bought 14 new baseballs for $4 each. The
schools basketball coach bought 7 new basketballs for $9 each. Which coach
spent the most money, and how much more money did they spend?

Mikes High School baseball team played 45 games this year. 17 of them
were night games. Mike missed 6 games in April, 7 games in May and 2
games in June because he was injured. How many games did Mike play in?

Jimmy bought a pizza that was cut into 12 slices. Kendra ate 2 slices, Adam
ate 4 slices, and Roxanne ate 3 slices. How many slices were left for Jimmy
to eat?

had their erasers chewed off. There are another 9 individual erasers in the
bottom drawer. How many erasers are in the teachers desk?

Stephanies little brother collects coins. He had 11 different coins in his piggy
bank, and got 12 more from their dad. Stephanie then gave him the rest of
her change in her purse, which was 17 more coins. Her little brother than
gave 14 of his coins to his friend Bobby. How many coins did Stephanies
little brother have left?

Ms. Nakamura and Ms. Kim got breakfast at the caf before school. Ms.
Nakamura got a piece of fruit, a breakfast sandwich and a coffee. Ms. Kim got
3 pieces of fruit and a coffee. If fruit costs $1.50 each, breakfast sandwiches
cost $3.50 each, and coffee is $4.00 each, how much did they spend
altogether?

The school cafeteria has 8 rectangular tables and 6 circular tables. Each
rectangular table can fit 12 chairs. Each circular table can fit 8 chairs. How
many students can sit in the cafeteria?

Taylor wanted to make a seashell necklace for her mother. She needed
perfect, unbroken seashells for it. In 3 hours, she found 17 white seashells,
but 6 were broken. She also found 19 multi-colored seashells, and 5 of those
were broken. If each necklace takes 5 seashells to make, how many
necklaces can Taylor make her mom?

97 5th graders were going on the field trip to Islandwood. Some students
were driving with theirparents. There were 4 buses, each with 22 students
on each bus. How many kids rode to Islandwood with their parents?
