Do you think marital status matters in a big corporation? Why?/Why not?

It depend in the company, some companies look for people married, because they
usually understand better the meaning of family, and some companies are like a big
family. Also for some companies, to be married is an important goal in life and people
who are not married are unsuccessful, because they failed on this topic.
Time ago, was like a rule to a man to be married before the 40, because the family was
an importan issue of life, but the modern times changed radically the idea of a family
and their importance. Family is not more an institution, is not more ornament for social
acceptance, family now for occidental people is love, and love is a very delicate topic
and that is why in Europe more and more people decide not to have a family, because
they take it very serious.
Also we can see that the number of divorce increased, because people now preferred
to be single that be in a relation that they dont want. We can see that for occidental
people, a realtion is more about feelings that a social dogma.
Finally other people dont believe in marriage, and that is their personal opinion, and
people need to respect it.
So I think that family is not as important as it was 50 years ago, and many people
single could have a better understanding of the meaning of family that those who are
married.

Is it a form of discrimination or a fashion?

Is a tradition in many cultures, also here in Peru, to be married at certain age, but
feelings can be pressure, only because the society wants. If a person is see different
only because is single and is old, there is a problem, and of course is discrimination.
