What is a Vocational Calling?

A vocational calling is what enables us, in response to the call of God,
to embrace whatever it is that God would have us be and do in the
church and the world. (Smith, Courage and Calling) 1
A vocational calling is the call to God and to His service in the
vocational sphere of life based on giftedness, desires, affirmations, and

A vocational calling is usually stable and permanent over a lifetime.

A vocational calling contains great mission potential, for it
demonstrates how Christians may contribute in the civil sphere toward

consideration that, through their everyday service, Christians contribute

Teach and Educate?
God has given me a love for
children and young people of
all ages.
I have had the opportunity
under many circumstances
to teach and disciple
children, in both small and
large groups, and have
greatly enjoyed doing so.
God has given me a passion
to teach children and young
people how to live a life that
glorifies Him.
