Welcoming Remarks For Kenya's Sports Heros
Welcoming Remarks For Kenya's Sports Heros
Good Morning!
This is a great day for Kenya. Indeed, we are known to be endowed and blessed with
sports talent but your exemplary performance in Beijing confirmed this to the entire
world. Hongera!
When you met his excellency the president to receive the national flag, you promised
him and kenyans that you will do your best to bring the medals home. You have not just
done your best, you have ended up as the best in the world.
A grateful nation has been waiting to receive you and express their gratitude.
We all watched with great anticipation race after race and event after event and surely
you did us proud!
From the days Ben Jipcho and Naftali Temu, to the great Kipchoge Keino, Catherine
Ndereba to fresh ground breaking by you-tube man, Julius Yego and Nicholas Bett, our
sports men and women have continuously held our flag up high and proved to be
priceless brand ambassadors.
Kenya is known all over the world because of you!
I join kenyans and indeed our President and Deputy President and all of our leaders in
celebrating your victory and expressing our sincere gratitude on behalf the millions of
kenyans who are truly thrilled by your great performance.
To Ezekiel Kemboi, David Rudisha, Vivan Cheruyoit, Nicholas Bett, Julius Yego, Hyvin
Jepkemoi and Asbel Kiprop...we salute you!
To all who won silver and bronze and indeed to all who travelled to Beijing...good work!
To the coaches and officials...well done!
